40-0348 First Gear - 1966 Pontiac GTO. 1:25 scale diecast collectible model. This Pontiac GTO is an 8"L x 2.5"W x 2.25"H die-cast metal car with openable hood & doors. Manufactured by First Gear. 40-0348 is in BLUE color with black interior. Individually packed in a box. Box size: 9.5"L x 5"W x 5"H.

The Pontiac GTO made its debut in 1964 and was considered by many to be the first true "muscle” car. It was the first highly popular, widely available muscle car and the one that opened the door to many affordable American muscle cars in the mid-1960s to early 1970s. Almost all high-performance automobiles were called ‘super cars’ or ‘muscle cars’ after the first GTO debuted.

The standard GTO option package included the 389 V-8 with 325 horsepower engine and a three-speed Hurst manual floor shifter, sport suspension, wide wheels, GTO emblems, two chromed non-functional hood scoops and dual exhausts. Additional options for the GTO included a four-speed manual transmission, tachometer and custom sports steering wheel, along with a "Tri-Power” triple carburetor setup that allowed 348 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 5.6 seconds!
